Take Action

• Support poverty alleviation initiatives through your church, denominational agency, the Christian Community Development Association, World Relief, members of the ACCORD Network and other ministries that you know and trust.

• Read "When Helping Hurts" by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert.
• Consider a career in teaching. Contact Teach for America for information on non-traditional paths to becoming a teacher.
• Join the Micah Challenge to encourage the United States and other countries to adopt policies that will cut extreme poverty in half by 2015.
• Support the USAID initiative "Every Child Deserves a Fifth Birthday" and post your picture!
